Case Woodlot Guardians
A community effort to steward our natural heritage.
The Case Woodlot is a 17 hectare forest nestled in the Aurora Highlands. Located at the headwaters Tannery Creek in the East Holland River Watershed which flows to Lake Simcoe.
It is located on the traditional territories of the Chippewa and the Michi Saagiig
and is governed by the Williams Treaties and Treaty #13.
The Case Woodlot Guardians recognize this forest as an integral part of our natural heritage.
It is an important wildlife refuge that supports a rich diversity of species. It is the only forest in Aurora designated as an Oak Ridges Moraine Core Area
We are community members committed to the health and wellbeing of the forest and all its inhabitants.
We invite you to join us as stewards of this shared natural gift.

Stewardship is the practice of taking care of our lands, waters, and all their inhabitants. It acts as a bridge between individuals, their neighborhood, and their ecosystem; bringing us into relation with the more than human world.
In short, stewardship is the practice of maintaining relationships.

Stewardship is a catalyst for creating a sense of belonging.
Through stewardship we begin to develop relationships with Nature and with each other. This practice gives us the opportunity to come together over a shared purpose; creating more connected and resilient communities.

We create opportunities to connect with nature through outdoor education, monitoring, and ecosystem restoration.
